PC : Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls
Well, I've been at it on the main story since monday midnight. Basic feelings? I enjoyed it alot! The new act gave me about 12 hours of play, and that was spent chasing every corner, looting, porting to town lots of times and talking to every damn npc every time they lit up with a blue '*' over their heads (means new conversations). Now that I did beat Malthael,
Adventure mode is available. Adventure mode is simply a distraction for those who want to grind out ultimate gear and whatnot. In any previous diablo title you simply re-grinded the entire story over and over and over. Well in reaper, you now have adventure mode. What this does is place random bounties in each act that award gold and exp above the normal reward as well as shards that act as a new merchants currency. On top of that, doing enough bounties in any act gives you a bonus chest and a chance at a key that can be used to unlock nephalem stages. Extremely challenging areas with really good rewards. The bounties are sometimes boss kills, sometimes their quantity kills or clear this out types and what have you. Every time you enter the game, they are randomized. All in all, this simply gives you a chance at getting your gear upgrades in a more timely manner.
The new mystic stall is nice. You can firstly enchant all your gear, this simply lets you add futher stat bonuses to your equipment. You choose from a variety of enchantments and bam, good to go. The mystic is also home to transmog. Trasmog simply lets you change the appearance of your arms and armor to look like something else. Your choices are only limited to what you've looted. Once something is picked up, its available for transmog. The expansion comes with several sets already available and pre-order/deluxe nuts got some additional options.
The blacksmith and jewel crafters both got new tiers of upgradability to their stalls. Jewelcrafters can finally make rings and whatnot. Blacksmiths, at max level several new patterns drop all over the place, legendary quality that you can put your smith to work on.
Reaper also brought with it another tab in your stash, not sure why its necessary. I havent filled half of my current three tabs to be honest. Infact with crafting mats being streamlined and also allowing stacks of 999, I have more space than ever. -shrugs-
If you don't want to know the story of Act 5, don't click "Read More" link that follows. You've been warned.

WNR Followup
Ok, had a day or so with each of the games I picked up this week. Here's my feelings about each.
Star Horizon(apple)
Definitely a Starfox fan's dream come true, this is a railshooter in space with really nice graphics and responsive each to use controls. As a default, anywhere on the right side of the screen, hold your finger down and move around to steer. Single Target, multi target and large single target weaponry is accessed by your left hand, bottom corner. Swiping our finger up down left or right moves in the correct direction extra quick like.
Missions are large enough but not so big that they drag on. They are farmable, which will be necessary inorder to save up and upgrade your ship. They are star rated, each star giving a larger cash reward.
There are a number of ships and each is fully upgradeable.
The banter between pilots and you and your ai is really amusing and adds to the game. What dosent do anything for me is the random jabber your character says when being fired at by enemies or killing enemies. When your character says "Talk to the hand, cuz the face ain't listening!" 14 times in one mission... yea. Stretches my patience somewhat.
There's some variety to your missions, all are action packed. Every mission so far for me has felt like the first 10 minutes of star wars episode 3 when obi-wan and anakin were in a major space battle.
I like what I'm experiencing, two thumbs up.
Roll Back Home(apple)
Simple stage based puzzles. Get from point a to point b. Tilt controls, mandatory. I played it for a bit then moved on, I'm not a fan of tile controls.
Steamworld Dig(vita)
Started playing this thursday morning around 2 am. Played it until 9am, went to bed. Picked it back up around 2pm, beat it at 9pm. So thats... 13 hours on my first attempt? Sounds right. Dosent account for getting up and doing other things and whatnot. Very very very enjoyable experience. This game keeps you moving along at a comfortable pace, I never actually felt bored or underpowered for what I was doing.
Very very nice controls. analog or d-pad control schemes.
Sounds, good good. Nothing spectacular, nothing atrocious.
Three entire enviroments, lots to mine loot and kill. Final and Only boss was entertaining. Two thumbs up!
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
Ok, confession. I never got more than 20 minutes in to final fantasy x. About 20 minutes in my wife decided she had figured out the controls from watching me play and she then hogged the ps2 until she had completely beaten this game.
Now, as a first time player experiencing this title for the first time ever... I'm impressed. This game changed alot of the rules I've come to know and expect from final fantasy titles. This was the first to ditch the traditional leveling system in favor of a sphere grid. The first to use voice acting. The first to use 3d enviroments. The first to not have the traditional theme songs in their proper format somewhere in game. It is also the last to use the traditional combat system.
I'm afew hours in, definitely enjoying it! Actually managed to kill my battery yesterday on the vita for the first time... ever.
----------
Ok so there's the recap. I'll be in diablo 3 alot for the near future. This weekend they ditched the 50% exp boost and put in a 100% exp boost. Then tuesday reaper of souls hits :)

Where'd the Week go?!
Well damn, feels like I just posted last weeks release yesterday. Busy weekend and busy week so far. Heavy car maintenance over the weekend and a whole lot of Blizzard stuff this week, heh. Anyways...
Wednesday Release, very weak for me this week. Only picked up one game, surgeon simulator and that was a let down for me. When I saw the game memories of those surgeon games on the 3ds came flying at me and I honestly got excited, I loveeed those surgeon type games so I bought it immediately.
The controls are fustrating. The tutorial is shallow. Further research in to the pc version of this game revealed that the controls are actually exactly as intended, same as the tutorial and 'half the fun' of the game is apparently working with the controls and figuring out everything yourself.
All this game made me do was download the latest amateur surgeon from adult swim.
Oh, the links :
http://toucharcade.com/2014/03/12/new-iphone-games-march-13/
Touch Arcades list.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id814977594?mt=8
Surgeon Simulator, 5.99usd, 227mb download, ipad only.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amateur-surgeon-3/id601538051?mt=8
Amateur Surgeon 3, Free, Univsersal, 328mb download.
There's abunch of arcadey type games, afew rpgs and a strategy game on touch arcade's release list. I also linked Surgeon Simulator... which I don't overly recommend and Amateur Surgeon 3 which I do recommend.
I'm still playing Mines of Mars from last week, very good game.
Now, as to the Blizzard stuff. On monday pre-orders for Warlords of Draenor opened up, wifey and I got our deluxe editions ordered immediately. Good thing too, account management servers crashed within 30 minutes from the overload of usage. Spent the afternoon and evening with the wifey and her insta-fresh lvl90 shadow priest, teaching her the ropes. I already have a lvl90 of every class alliance side so I used my insta-fresh lvl90 as a monk horde.
Tuesday, diablo 3 got a patch and hearthstone exited beta. Hearthstone also offers a free mount in WoW to anyone who wins three hearthstone matches against other players. That equaled authentication servers crashing heh. Got my hearthstone mount for WoW tuesday afternoon and got the wifey her hearthstone mount wednesday afternoon. Suspect I'll be getting my mom her mount soon as she much like the wifey just aren't all that good at card games.
So, there's my week covering recap heh.

Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls
So, with patch 2.0 out (final patch before the expansion) players can watch the ingame sketch intro to act 5. I've watched it, listened to it and no longer believe the official trailer takes place as a primer to act 5. The official trailer makes it look like Tyreal took the black crystal from the heavens and decided to lock it up from everyone and Malthael attacks setting the pace for the expansion. The sketch intro to act 5 however is in Malthael's voice explaining to the Nephalem (you) whats going on post act 4 on sanctuary (earth), everyone is dieing due to the uncontrolled no-hosted black crystal.
My guess? Malthael brings to the council and you information that his job is going in to overtime due to the folks dieing. Everyone agrees to send you down to retrieve the crystal and to work together with Tyreal and the new Horadrim to seal it permanently. Now, its obvious we do retrieve the crystal and its obvious Tyreal attempts to seal it. And from the video it looks like for some reason or another Malthael decides to take it for himself.
My theory? Given this is from Blizzard and Blizzard has shown a lean towards WoW's expansion system for Diablo 3... what if the launch title does not have us fight Malthael? What if he dosent show up until mid way through the expansion? What if Act 5 leads up to Malthael's betrayal and... udunno maybe an Act 6 a year down the road as a big patch leads to him? I'd like this alot to be honest. Lets compare how a WoW expansion and how up until now a Diablo expansion worked.
WoW. Expansion hits, core mechanics in place, new places to run around, entry content for new expansion available. Every 3 months, new content added on to expansion. 1 year in to expansion final boss shows up via patch with related content and shortly there after next expansion announced and players only wait 1 year for new content.
Diablo series. Expansion hits, all content present including final boss. Players wait 2 years for new expansion.
I'd very much like to see WoW's expansion system applied to the Diablo franchise. Content at launch and periodic content added over course of two years until next expansion. Sounds tastier that way heh. Anywho, enjoy the trailer below, its the cinematic one and it is awesome.

Diablo 3 2.0 is here!
The big patch has hit! Blizzard has decided to handle d3 expansions like wow expansions, meaning just before the xpansion you get a patch with all the technical stuff. And here it is :
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/12671560/patch-201-now-live-2-25-2014
Only thing missing is the crusader class and act5. My observations :
. Difficulty system is gone, no more normal, hell, nightmare, inferno. There is a difficulty system but its just overall challenge/loot/reward now. Higher difficulties give more exp/coin. Probably require a group. In any case, the actual in game difficulty scales to your level.
. Auction House is gone, may she burn in hell.
. Interfaces updated throughout, new map screens, new teleport screens, new menu's, etc.
. Progress through the story has been reset, you'll have to clear all acts again before you can actively move around like before.
. Paragon system now has talent points and trees to spend those points on.
. Paragon talents affect all your characters, not just the paragon.
. I've looted 2 backpack trips back to town worth of blue's and yellow's, every single piece was usable by my demon hunter.
. Can't access cow level till I complete the game again.
. Blacksmithing. Two crafting material tiers now. 1-60 and Paragon.
. The pre-order pet is in game and rewarded. The pre-order reward for WoW isn't.
. Clans (guilds) are ingame.
More obersvations to follow.
